No Rhyme or Reason


I hope everyone had a Happy Easter.  I have been eating Peeps everyday for a week now.  OMG I love Peeps.  I'm going to miss them so much.  The bunnies, too.  Especially the chocolate bunny Peeps.  Those are awesome!  Easter is over now.  Time to get off the Peeps and show a little discipline and self-control.
I got a run in around noon yesterday but the temperature was already up to 74 degrees or so.  Today the high is going to be 84 degrees. Where did Spring go?

So yesterday's run was around 4 1/2 miles. Today's run was around 3 1/2 miles.
Yesterday, I felt like elephant poop.  Today, I felt like Wilma Rudolph.
Yesterday, I plodded along.  Today, I flew - I felt efficient and in synch.
Yesterday, I couldn't get my breathing into any sort of rhythm.  Today, no problem.
Yesterday, I ate 1/2 a PB&J before I ran.  Today, I ate 1/2 PB&J before I ran.
Yesterday, I ran at Noon.  Today, I ran at 10:00 AM.

RunnerDude, whose posts seem to be very timely, tells me that my fatigue is caused by
  • Overtraining - (Nah)
  • Improper hydration (Possibly - Saturday night I drank a bit of wine.)
  • Lack of Sleep (Possibly - see above)
  • Low Iron Levels - (Nah)
  • Insufficient post-run fueling (This I never do.  But it's not like I'm running that far.)
It just amazes me how one run can be so awesome and the next so lousy.

I have never had a Peep.

D and I are looking at our pre-run fueling. We don't think we are doing that well.

Did you end up running slowly on the bad day? If so, you may have felt awesome the next day because your legs got a slow recovery run.

I'm not a fan of Peeps, but I having been eating Reeses peanut butter eggs like the world will end tomorrow!

We all have good days and bad days. I felt great last week and this week I feel like poop when I run! Boo.
