And Life Gets in the Way

Boy it's been awhile!  I am not going to apologize though.  I hate it when people apologize for not blogging and I refuse to feel guilty about it.  How's that for dumping unnecessary baggage!

I've been out of cyber-touch for awhile because life has been SO busy!
  1. Jack, my 18 year old, graduated from High School with honors.
  2. My family came into town after several years of separation due to family quarrels.
  3. My family came back through town on their way home from Disney World and we met for dinner.
  4. Took my final in SQL Programming (Got an A in the class.)
  5. Trying very hard to keep my running up in the heat.
  6. Trying very hard and failing to run on the weekends because I'm spending Saturdays at the lake drinking beer in the hot sun.
  7. Hub just took a job in Dallas and will be commuting back and forth to Atlanta.
  8. Julie, my daughter joined the neighborhood swim team.
  9. Apparantely, I have ADD like she does and am now taking Ritalin.  How odd is that?!
And Heidi?  Thanks for checking on me!  Nice bike, btw.  You could really pull the biker chick thing off!

Life sometimes just gets in the way of blogging and running! Sounds like all your busy ness is really fun stuff though. Congrats to your graduating son. And I loved your shoe review below. The link to the Mizuno site was great. I had a pair once and they were done at around 250 miles also. I never thought to send them in. Have a good one!

Life getting in the way of blogging can be a good thing! Sounds like you've got lots going on.

My husband has a friend that was just diagnosed with ADD and has been put on Ritalin and is thrilled with how it's helping her. To know what the reason is for her struggles has been such a relief to her. We tend to only associate ADD with children but ADD doesn't know age limits. Good luck with your treatment!

#'s 1-8 may have yielded #9 anyways.

SQL programming? I hope it helps you query your running log.

And congrats on raising such a smart son.

Life is sure taking over on my end too! Like you, I refuse to apologize...I'd say it's not a bad thing to have a busy real life :)
I've cut down a lot on commenting...this morning, you're one of my three comments :)
Glad to hear that all is good! Hope the Ritalin helps...

Quite admirable of you to put real life in front of blogging, ha ha. As it should be ;-)

That's great that you had lots of positive family stuff going on. I was checking on you because I didn't know that in your case, it seems "no news is good news." Hooray for that! It will ease my mind in the future.

No wonder your running schedule has eased up, you guys get some killer heat down south. It's only 68 here today! Perfect for running, tho I'd prefer to sit with a beer, of course ;-)

Re: ADD, one of my best friends has it & she's mid-60s (diagnosed at 50). I wouldn't be surprised at all if I had it, too. Never been checked & I don't know enough about it to know if I'm negatively impacted, I guess. Good luck with the meds!

Welcome back and good luck with the running in the heat! We finally have had a few reasonable days after 100+ temps and high humidity. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot again. Bleh. Do you ever take to the treadmill in the summer?

You are so funny! Ok, I will quit apologizing for my lack of blogging too.

YEAH to A on your SQL test!! I am a fellow geek and use to write a ton of queries and stored procedures back when I was programming. I think my longest stored proc was like 250 lines. It was a crazy export query, but it worked! Fun stuff!

You know, I've always thought I might be ADD too! Man, we have a lot in common. Do you know who your father is? LOL...kidding.

I have trouble keeping up too; no worries!!

Sounds like your whole family has been super busy. Congrats to your son on his graduation and YOU on your A! Another congrats to your hubs on his new job and your daughter on joining the swim team.

Good luck with your running. I HATE running in heat. I would much prefer to run in snow then heat!!!

I sometimes have less time for blogging too..
